A quick and easy chicken pen

So it not very big 2..3 mtr by 1 mtr but great for a clucky chook, and the best part is all up it cost only $5 to make, with the been for the nails and the hindges (which were in the clearance pile at bunnings).
So the tin and the wire were given to us and the wool is all pallets... and best of all the were for free.

A Quick Knit

I love to knit and  this pattern is a great quick knit (I finished this of in one night) I adjusted the pattern to fit Alyras thermos that she takes to daycare. The wool is from 100 purewool I have another knitting project that I'm also doing at the moment with some of the 3ply and its knitting up really  nice, they have some really interesting and vibrant colourways.

A Family Breakfast

I love the weekends, family time and a time to cook and eat together
With some yummy homemade jams, ( quince, and cumquat's at the back and strawberry and fig in front) sitting in the fridge I decided to make some pancakes with the kids or as my Nona calls them palachinka.

Miss Alyra changed her mind at the last minute and ended up having some homemade yogurt with pureed mulberry's (that we collected over summer and froze) over the top

harvesting

Ingredients to make coleslaw even made the mayonnaise with fresh eggs from the chickens, can't get much better then that, I don't normally add radish to coleslaw but we have so many and it turned out really good and the rabbits love radish's too so we have already planted more radish seeds in the garden.

And just because its cute, there is only one baby chicken so shes very protective of it and makes a growling sound at you when you pat the chicken.
